Book Signing - Martha Smith-Henderson
Martha Smith-Henderson, a 1978 Manual graduate, will be in Peoria for a book signing for her novel Life Unraveling to be held on Saturday, August 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Holiday Inn at 500 S. Hamilton Street. Autographed books will be available for $20 each.
Martha and her husband Roosevelt Henderson, also a 1978 Manual grad, live in California, where Martha is a managing partner for the labor group of Martin & Martin, one of the largest African-American owned law firms in Los Angeles. Having both a successful career and a happy twenty-three-year marriage with three bright, healthy children, Martha states, “There were still dreams that I had not yet fulfilled. Pulling out the beginning of a manuscript I had started nearly ten years earlier, I vowed to finish it, and to renew my dream of becoming a writer and published author. “
