Curbside Garbage Pickup Test Areas
The test area for curbside garbage pickup has begun and, according to city officials, seems to be going very well. The city applauds the good responses from residents so far and states that the following improvements in the alleys are already apparent:
· No more tipped over trash cans and trash strewn in the alley
· No raccoons or other animals roaming the alleyways at night
· No more windblown trash cans blocking alleyways.
· And best of all, for those whose garages are off the alley, the large potholes that have been filled are staying filled.
The test area includes both sides of Callender Avenue, the south side of Kellogg Avenue, and the north side of Ayres Avenue from Western Avenue to Sterling Avenue. The test, which will continue through November 21, is being conducted in an effort to promote a cleaner and safer community as well as to provide more efficient service.
