A recognition ceremony for Calvin Coolidge eighth graders will be held on June 5 at 1 p.m. in the gym. Group pictures will be taken in the gym just before the ceremony. To participate in this event, an eighth grader must have passing grades in all subject areas and on the mandatory history tests.
Awards Day will be held on June 4 at 1 p.m. in the school’s gym. Congratulations go to the following students on the “A” honor roll for the third quarter: Tierney Howell, Samantha Johnson, Antonio Lewis, Devon Shaw, Kennady Singleton, Stephanie Howell, Ashley Owen, Trevon White, Billy Yeagle, Sage Strong, Azure’rea Hike, Josh Augusta. The school’s Green Club is planning a recycling project and would appreciate donations of heavy-duty, sealed containers to be used as outdoor receptacles for cans and bottles. Information about affordable recycling companies would also be appreciated.
Calvin Coolidge would also appreciate the community’s help in collecting Coca Cola bottle caps and the codes off the Coca Cola cardboard packages. The points earned from these codes will be used for efforts such as the improvement of the school’s art collection and for playground equipment. Collect these caps and codes over the summer and turn them in when school starts in August.
