Optimist Club Oratorical Contest
Congratulations go to two West Peoria students who won honors at the Noon Optimist Club Oratorical Contest held in March. Washington Gifted Middle School seventh grader, Mahliyah Adkins-Threats--daughter of Karen and Jeff Adkins-Dutro--placed second. Manual High School freshman, Alex Menke—daughter of Mary and Michael Menke—placed third. Both spoke on the topic of “Why Me, Why Not.”
