Heading Avenue Franciscans

The Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception invite women ages 19-40 to join them for spiritual renewal on the first Saturday of every month from 8 to 10 a.m.  Spiritual Renewal Saturdays through May will be held on February 7, March 7, April 4, and May 2 at Immaculate Conception Convent, 2408 W. Heading Ave., West Peoria.  Questions should be directed to Sister Paula Vasquez at 309-674-6168. For these Saturday events, the sisters welcome interested women for mass, morning prayer, and a light breakfast at the start of their day. Founded in 1891, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Heading Avenue Franciscans, have called West Peoria their home since 1912.  Today they serve the Dioceses of Peoria and Springfield in ministries that include—but are not limited to— prayer, care of the elderly (St. Joseph’s Home Care in Peoria and St. Joseph’s Home of Springfield), campus ministry, adult literacy, pastoral care, education, spirituality, and diocesan offices.
