www.cityofwestpeoria.com. All West Peoria City Council and related committee meetings are held at city hall, and the public is encouraged to attend.
- City Council meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
- Finance Committee, which meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., is responsible for issues regarding appropriations, banking, budgeting, franchise agreements, insurance, personnel, most grant requests, and tax levies.
- Transportation Committee, which meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m., is responsible for issues regarding alleys, bridges, curbs, dry wells, gutters, operations of the Street Department, public utilities, sanitation, sidewalks, storm sewers, and streets.
- Plan Commission, which meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., helps to guide development according to the Comprehensive Plan. The commission periodically reviews the plan and convenes monthly to discuss planning issues and to review applications for zoning and ordinance changes.
- Public Safety Committee, which meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., is responsible for issues regarding animal control services, code enforcement, emergency medical services, fire protection services, nuisances, police services, public health, solid waste management, and traffic control.
- Land Use Committee, which meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m., is responsible for issues regarding annexation, community economic development, comprehensive planning, planning and zoning, all city buildings and meeting facilities.
