Reminders from the City
Reminders from the city of West Peoria:
- All city council and city committee meetings are held at the WP City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.
- Check the city’s calendar of meetings and events at www.cityofwestpeoria.com
- Pick up Welcome Packets for new residents at city hall, which is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Pick up “Plant Pride…Not Litter” signs at city hall.
- Pick up house numbers to be placed on structures at the back of residences to aid emergency vehicles to locate addresses in emergency situations.
- Remember that residents are responsible for cleaning up their property from the middle of the street to the middle of the alley by mowing yards and keeping alleys mowed and free of branches and weeds; by putting garbage in cans with lids; and by cleaning up after pets.
- Remember that no burning of any type of waste (landscape waste, garbage, etc.) is allowed.
- Complaints about code violations can be made by sending an e-mail to code-zoning@cityofwestpeoria.com or by phoning 674-1993. The Code Officer’s hours are: Monday-Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday-Thursday-Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. All information is confidential—callers are not required to give their names to report a violation.
- Remember there are still funds available for the Residential Paint Reimbursement Program. For more information, visit the City Website: www.cityofwestpeoria.com or call city hall at 674-1993.
- Support West Peoria businesses. These businesses provide sales tax dollars for West Peoria.
- All Monday trash pick up is now on Thursday.
- Landscape Waste is picked up every Friday at the curb
- All trash pickup in West Peoria is now at the curb with the exception of a few streets that are inaccessible for curbside pick up
- Recycling service is offered for $5.75 per month for pick up at the curb every other Friday all year.Recycle Bins can be purchased at city hall for $5.00 each.
