2009 Aug WP News Andy O'Neill Ward 4 Councilman
ANDREW "ANDY" O'NEILL, West Peoria's newest councilman, was elected to the WP City Council in 2009 as the Ward 4 Alderman to fill the vacancy left by Phil Roberts.  O'Neill currently sits on the Transportation Committee and on the Land Use Committee.      He is the son of Geri and Tom O'Neill, the current chairman of the Peoria County Board.  Raised in Bartonville, Andy O'Neill graduated from Limestone High School in 1998, but he moved to West Peoria six years ago when he purchased his home at 2219 Sherman Avenue.     He and his wife Stacy have been married for one year and are the proud parents of daughter Maddy.  O'Neill chose to raise his family in West Peoria because of the small town atmosphere, great community support, and lower taxes.    O'Neill has been a member of IBEW Local 34 for nine years and is currently serving on the Examining Board for the local. He is also a member of St. Anthony's Church in Bartonville and the St. Jude Council Knights of Columbus.     Some of O'Neill's interests are University of Notre Dame football, NASCAR, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. According to O'Neill, he is enjoying his public service to this city where he has met many wonderful people. He believes, as stated by Alderman Mathewson in an earlier West Peoria News issue, "The community of people and fellowship of friends makes West Peoria a great place to live."  He can be reached at 231-9546.
