Tom Dwyer
Mr. Dwyer, also a City of West Peoria alderman, is the military person in his family. He serves as the Budget Office for the 182nd Airlift Wing of the Illinois Air National Guard. He enlisted in 1992 and was commissioned in 2001.
Tom says: "My career has provided me countless opportunities to grow as a person. I am truly blessed to serve my country right in my home town. I well up with pride and humility when I think of the men and women with whom I serve. Many have gone into harms way several times, some are in harms way right now, and many more have quietly done the work that is required right here at home to support our soldiers, marines and airman. They keep our aircraft flying. Some members know they will be going back soon and others wonder when it will be their turn, but each knows our mission and will answer the call when it comes. I'll stop gushing now. I commend the WPRA for deciding to recognize our vets. Thank you."
