Are you counting the days until you can get back in your garden? So are we! The West Peoria Garden Club would love to have you join us as we plan our 2011 schedule. We are looking forward to some exciting Mondays throughout the year. Everyone is welcome, so stop by and give your input. Whether you are experienced or just starting out, the West Peoria Garden Club has something to offer you.

The ground may be frozen, but the West Peoria Garden Club is busy thinking spring. We meet the third Monday of each month at West Peoria City Hall at 7:00 p.m. In December, we will be celebrating the holidays at a member's house, but in January, we'll start planning the 2011 programs. Join us Monday, January 17 to find out what exciting events we will have. The club displayed at ICC's garden day in September and made some great contacts for 2011 programs.

The West Peoria Garden Club will meet on Monday, April 19 at West Peoria City Hall at 7 p.m. The program will be all about lilies. A garden party is scheduled in May, and garden tours are planned for the summer. For more information, please contact Donna Schwab at 676-6912. Annual dues are $10 for singles and $18 for couples. In February we learned about starting seeds and in March we focused on preparing our garden for spring.

Before too long the first signs of spring will be visible: crocuses peeking out of the frozen ground, trees budding, and seed packets begging to be bought. Think "spring;" think "West Peoria Garden Club."
The West Peoria Garden Club wishes to invite interested West Peorians to join with other residents who want to know more about gardening and to share their own "green-thumb" experiences.
Each month the Garden Club presents a different topic or hands-on activity. This year the group will continue to learn from a "Flower of the Month" presentation by Priscilla Peterson.
The Garden Club meets the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the West Peoria City Hall. Its garden tours and other special events are held in other locations to be announced in advance.
To find out more about the Garden Club, come to city hall on Monday, February 15, and/or Monday, March 15, at 7 p.m. Guests are always welcome to attend and hopefully will enjoy the experience enough to become a member.
